Gelato Chef's Krystal Adams, Dave and Carla Pursel opened the doors of Café Italiano on April 10, 2009, with a vision of creating "A Taste of Italy" in every cup of Gelato served.  Master Gelato Chef, Paolo S. Cantatore, of Berzaci Corp, was instrumental in making this dream come true for the daughter, mother, father team.  Using authentic production equipment from Italy, Paolo guided the team in developing each recipe using base ingredients from Italy, while adding fresh local ingredients to bring the flavors of Tucson to each pan of Gelato created.

Passion was in the air as the family owned and operated business opened its doors for “Friends and Family” Night.  Over 300 guests sampled the 27 flavors of Gelato & Sorbetto, along with Panna Cotta and Specialty Coffees created with freshly roasted coffee beans from Caffe Luce.
